D2 Radiator hose, Cap, Thermostat

Does anyone have a good current part number for the lower (radiator to water pump) hose? Dayco #71011 is close but needs to be more than a 90* bend. It might work if we can find a spring to put in it to prevent it from collapsing. Is thermostat Stant #13366 160* correct. Is Radiator cap Stant #10203 Zero pressure correct?
Thank you,
-Snowman.

Re: D2 Radiator hose, Cap, Thermostat

Forget the 160 deg thermostat, go with a 180 or 192. 160's were from the days of alcohol anti-freeze, if you used higher, it would boil off the antifreeze and leave pure water. With Ethylene-glycol coolant, you want the higher temps. Engine will run better, oil will stay cleaner, and there is no drawback to it.
Remember, a thermostat only sets the MINIMUM temp, not how hot it gets when working.

Hey Snowman,

Check out this post in the KB section, it has part #'s for lower radiator hoses for KB's, maybe they will fit on a D2.

Re: D2 Radiator hose, Cap, Thermostat

Thanks CornBinder and YankeeFan. We have found a Stant 13368 180* thermostat to use. The KB hoses must be different, like 1-3/4" & 2". Ours seems to be 1-1/2" & 1-3/4". We will put a spring in the Dayco #71011 and try to make it work.
Thanks again,
-Snowman.

The lower radiator connection on a D-2 is a 90 degree bent pipe connected with two short straight pieces of hose.

Re: D2 Radiator hose, Cap, Thermostat

Found that mine doesn't even have a thermostat currently installed... Will be trying these parts too. Thanks!
