Hub cap clips

My 37 D-2 has artillery wheels, however, most of the hubcap clips are missing. Anyone know where I can find some? Maybe there is a suitable replacement that someone knows of...
Thanks

Re: Hub cap clips

We are in the same situation... 3 wheels have good clips. Haven't yet found good clips for #4. Did you find something suitable?
Thanks,
-Snowman.

Could you post pics of the clips you are looking for?

And the wheel as a whole, sorry but I am visual. I had some rims with "clips" I think I still have them, but not sure. Not sure also if I do if they had all or just some clips.

Re: Hub cap clips

There is an on-line store that sells both hubcaps and replacement clips...I can't remember who but if you do some searching you should be able to find it. If I do come across it I'll post it for others.

Re: Hub cap clips

We met the local clip & fastener guy. He has clips used on old Ford & Chevy but neither of them are long enough due to the dish of the rim. Still searching...

Re: Hub cap clips

Make the clips. Someone made the original clips after developing the design. Now you have to design, you need the material. Try using the steel spring strap warehouses use
for securing stuff to pallets.

Re: Hub cap clips

For what it is worth, I have two very good 16 inch artillery wheels with all clips for sale. I had a donor very rusted wheel and I had my fab guy remove the clips from it and put them on the good wheels. One of the wheels is surface pitted but nothing a coat of primer and a coat of paint won't fix. The wheels have been blasted and lightly primed and have been in dry heated space since. I was lucky enough to put together a nice set of 15" balloon type artillery wheels so I do not need the 16" wheels.- Stickman207
