Hi, I found an International D 2. I think the serial number is 125WB, but I am not positive. Another thing about the truck is that it has a steel bed instead of having a wooden floor. I think it is an original bed because it has an International tailgate on it. Did IH have a steel bed option? The guy also mentioned that it was a long bed so it might be a little more rare. Has anyone ever heard of this option before? Thanks for all the help.

The 125WB is the wheelbase of the truck. D-2's were made with a 113 or a 125" wheelbase. I believe that more were built with the 125' wheelbase. In 1940, the 125" wheelbase trucks became D-3's. The standard bed on all Model D's had a steel floor. The serial number for your truck is the chassis number on the name plate.

How early would the truck have to be to add to the value? I think that it has the solid front windshield that the earlier trucks did in 37. Does this make a difference?

If it has a one piece windshield it is a C-1, not a D-2. Model C's were produced in early 1937 before the Model D's were introduced.

It is definitely a D 2. I guess I just didn't look at the windshield close enough. Do anyone know how many D 2's were made in 37?

My IHC truck book says 28,029 D2 trucks were made in 1937.

I found out that the serial number is 14764. Is this a 37?
