D2 side window installation

Anyone ever have to replace the door glass in a D2? Seems like there is no easy way to do it, obviously there is an access panel on each door. Doesn't look like the door panel is able to separate. Any thoughts would be helpful, thank you

Re: D2 side window installation

Pretty simple actually...
1) Remove access panel
2) Wind window down - all the way
3) Slide window w/channel off of regulator - regulator has two (2) "wheels" that ride within channel
4) Tilt window as you lift glass - this removes window from door channels
5) Remove glass thru window opening...

Re: D2 side window installation

I recall when doing my installation that I stuffed some towels or rags in the lower door in case the glass dropped while trying to install it. They can easily be removed later through the access panel with the window raised. Also a good time to lubricate everything on the regulator.

Thank you both very much, I here to get the glass yet. Both sides were broken out, so I'll just be putting it in. Again thank you.
