D2 Fuel Pump

The fuel pump has started to leak a little. It appears to be coming out of the vent (if that's what it is called) on the side of the pump itself. Is the pump rebuildable? Is a replacement pump available?
Thanks for any help,
-Snowman.

Re: D2 Fuel Pump

The diaphragm is leaking and needs replaced. They put the weep holes there so when this happens, it doesn't go into the crankcase and dilute the oil. These old style fuel pumps were made to be rebuilt, the difficulty is finding a kit. MM

Re: D2 Fuel Pump

That's what I needed to know. We'll be looking for a diaphragm/kit.
Thanks for your diagnosis,

Re: D2 Fuel Pump

Has anyone tried the rebuilds & kits from Hal over at Classic Preservation Coalition?

He/They specialize on AC pumps, was going to try one for my KB-3, but haven't had a chance to climb under the hood to confirm the pump brand and model.

Re: D2 Fuel Pump

Well, we got a kit from Hal at http://www.classicpreservation.com Very pleasant experience. $43 for kit #FPK133, included all of the parts we needed plus a few for other applications and some very precise instructions. We had a concern about the diaphragm stem condition and Hal helped us through it. Truck is up and running again!
