Hey Stickman,

I've heard referred to as Adirondac green or #10 green, its the original color.

Hey Yankeefan- Thanks for the reply- I have paint charts that confirm your info. I like it when people stick with an original paint color. I did my KB-2 in No.22 Maroon and it looks great-people love the color.- Stickman207

Choosing paint color was a tough decision, I've seen pictures of maroon and also red D series trucks and they looked great however I decided to keep the truck as close to origional as possible, although the engine is a GRD233 and from what I've read in this forum only the 213 was offered in the D2 so it seems the engine was replaced at one time.

What probably was in the truck originally was the HD213, which later became the Green Diamond 214. The engine in the larger D series was the HD232 (at least in the D-30) which morphed into the Green Diamond 233. My KB-2 has a 233 in it, which I think is a replacement engine, instead of the 214. I found that out when I ordered new pistons for the 214 . The pistons for the 214 stuck out about 1/4' above the cylinder top so I had to swap them for 233 pistons , which were smaller so the displacement is larger. You will get a bit more power and pickup than you would have had with the HD 213. The engines don't look much different, though. Keep up the good work with your project.- Stickman207
