Long weekend--back on beer truck!
Here's a problem to overcome, getting clutch pedal and master to fit MUCH narrower D firewall.

This late 30's IHC D-35 cab has cab mounting points different from D-2 and maybe even D-30.
This rear mounting arrangement won't work very well with a '95 Tacoma frame. Gotta find new rear mounting points.

Difference between D series firewall and 1995 Toyota Tacoma firewall. BIG difference in width. Tacoma (and anything newer) is much wider than old stuff.
In this case, 15 inches wider.
Hard to squeeze all the Tacoma stuff in a D series firewall.

Not nice D-35 floor (I think). Gonna straighten, reinforce with square tubing, weld in patches to fix rotten sections. Otherwise treat surface rust and paint...white.

Normally, I cut the floor and firewall out of the donor Japanese truck and weld or bolt into the old truck.
This time..I see no advantage? Except perhaps as templates to drill holes for brake and clutch masters.
Also, floor is nearly flat, no bellhousing to speak of.(I don't think I can move engine back like I usually do, rack and pinion in the way).
We will see what transpires.

Tentative position of clutch pedal/ pedal hanger/ clutch master. It may change. I have to remove assy now and give the clutch pedal arm a straightening. That will make it hang more to the left and further down. Both good things.

I've cut a slot in each bend of the pedal arm and then used a huge vise to take out about half of the stock bend. I will use Snap-On Muscle Mig to weld up slot when I'm happy.
This puts the pedal closer to the left and makes it hang down a little lower. Yay!
Don't know yet if this configuration mounted against the D firewall will allow for sufficient pedal travel for clutch to work smoothly.
Trial and error.

Gotta stop and make sure Tacoma steering column will fit between clutch and brake pedals.
