Just bought my first International, uncertain on the year. I downloaded the vin lists someone had posted in another thread but I still can't make heads or tails of what I have. Hoping you can give me a little guidance. Well my picture is too big and won't load. Anyway mine is a model# D2-213, there is a 113 in the corner of the tag even with the model # but no explanation of what its for?? Chassis # D2-93054. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It is a model D-2 with a flathead 213 engine orignally installed. My guess is the 113 is wheel base and thats about all the info you can get from the tag.

That makes sense, thanks for the info! Are there any telltale parts (minus engine) that can help pin down the year? There is a tag in the drivers side floor, but its rough, maybe could make out a few numbers or letters. I have gauges, handles, grille etc, are any of them identifiable?

I am no expert on the D's but with a Chassis # D2-93054 I would say 1940.

The list from WHS has the D2.
1937 501-35,077
1938 35,078 - 52,011
1939 52,012 - 80,168
1940 80,160 - ????

Hope this helps

If it is a 1940, it will have sealed beam headlights and park lights on the top of the fenders.

One way to verify a 1940 D-2 is by the headlamps and parklamps.
This year D-2 CAME from the factory with sealed beam headlights and therefore the parklamps that were previously incorporated into the old hradlamp assys had to be placed elesewhere.
So, does your truck have any evidence of these?
(Notice the little lights on top of the front fenders)

As Trevor stated, it should be a 1940 the beginning serial number for 1940 D-2 was 80169 yours is 93054. for the year before that there were 28157 D-2's built in 1939 in the United States. I surmise that if they kept the same pace of "build" yours might have been built sometime in Mid year of 1940. This is conjecture on my part.

Another way to help narrow down the year is by the windshield regulator...
A mid-year change occurred in 1939, they replaced the tape mech with rods....

I will check that out and see what type of drive the windshield crank has and let you know.
