Sorry I can't help on that. The 26 SL bones I have the gas tank is in the cowl but the filler comes out through the dash. I wasn't seeing it there either in the photos. Just looked at several model spec sheets in the Wisconsin Historical Library, found six speed special tank located under seat. Another model had a tank mounted on the frame and others in the cowl. since their is not evidence of it being in the cowl would suspect it is under the seat. MM

I would say that is an S26 model and the specs for an S26 say the gas tank is under the seat.

Don, I have to agree with Nebraska Kirk that it is most likely an S-26. 6 being a 6 cylinder engine. There was a model 15 with a 6 cylinder but the wheels are not the cast spoke wheels. Hey you could buy it and have it shipped to me! I am outside of Elizabeth Colorado??!! Actually $2500 to ship to NJ doesn't sound to bad considering what fuel costs these days. You could store it here for a few months if you know of someone making the trip later on. MM

Can see on the passenger side of the cowl where the id tag is or was, also ask him for the chassis serial number from the drivers side between front and axle.

Also has it got a straight rear chassis or a hump over the rear axle.

Can the engine be turned over by hand.
