IHC 6 Speed Special advertisements
Posted: Fri Nov 22, 2013 12:54 amThe weather turned cold today with freezing rain and sleet so I decided it was a good chance to go to town and run some errands. Once the necessities were out of the way, I stopped in at the library with my laptop to access their hi-speed internet 
I did a little research on the IHC 6 speed special truck and found a couple of cool websites and some neat advertisements.

The transmission provides a 3.9 to 1 reduction in 1st gear, 2 to 1 in 2nd and 3rd is direct, with reverse being 4.68 to 1. The 2-speed rear axle gives a 5.285 to 1 ratio in high and 15.461 to 1 in low. This very low gear reduction gives the truck lots of low end torque and International came up with a clever marketing gimmick to illustrate this to the public.
