Ct lycoming manifold gaskets

I am in the process of getting some manifold and head gaskets made for the ct 4cylinder lycoming engine.
Does anyone else need any of these as it might alter the price. Haven't got a price yet should have one in about a weeks time.

Did you-all ever manage to work out a new or workaround oil pump for these CT potmetal disintegrating oil pumps??
Haven't been following site for awhile; work was in progress on some kind of replacement last I recall.

Al had finished the prototype and Trevor has it installed in his SL34. Unfortunately our friend Al passed away this past year. Trevor should chime in and let us know what the status is. MM

My old mate JD(RIP) did a fantastic job on the oil pump it now sits on a steady 45 psi hot or cold.

Will try and attach some pictures.

A special thanks to Bill as well for sorting out the pickup strainer.

Re: Ct lycoming manifold gaskets

The oil pump project was actually a 4 person project.
I have a parts Lycoming CT which I tore apart and came up with the idea of retro fitting a
modern oil pump. Also a problem with these engines is the external pressure regulator is
also made of pot metal and cracks. After searching the Melling oil pump sight and contacting
them for further information such as oil pump rotation I determined that the Melling M-62 pump
appeared to be a good candidate and ordered one. Things looked that it would be tight but would
work.
At about this point Al offered the services of his tool and die shop, so I hauled the crankcase and necessary parts out to his shop. Al made up a prototype pump adapter from my sketch out of wood for a trial fit. After a few modification we were ready to build one out of aluminum.
Al's son Lewis is a wiz with CNC programming/machining and did this part of the project. Al did the remainder of the machining which involved some lath work, bushing fitting etc.
At this point we were down to the oil pickup. I was involved with helping family make a move a busy with other things so Trevor (Al had shipped an adaptor to him) came up with the oil pickup setup.
Trevor has had his in service for about a year now and all is working well.

Sorry I left out your contribution Bill! That being said, is the project finished or did someone end up with a blueprint for the adapter so that others could be produced? I don't need one but I'm sure there will be a need by a few others. After all the hard team work it would be a shame to lose the knowledge! MM

Re: Ct lycoming manifold gaskets

Oooopppppsssss sorry Bill my reply was a quick one at nearly 1am here didn't go into to many details about the amount of time and energy we all put into this project it really was an international effort by all. Without your dedicated effort in the first place we would not have know about the pump and then your effort through out the project, without AL's machine shop and dedication and Lewis's workmanship we would not have had the adaptor and without the availability of my spare engine and then the trial engine the project would not have been tried and tested.

Mike to answer your question yes we do have all the details if another adaptor and pump is needed.

Re: Ct lycoming manifold gaskets

Many thxx to all for replies...
Yes, will note it on my parts pages and pass info along whenever a CT comes up..
OOPS: one more question I should've thought of earlier---Lyc's C series/family seems to run CE, CF, CH, CT/CTM (don't know if CTM is marine as most Lyc marine in my old catalogs have U-designation or just number) CUWM, C4, C4W, C4WM and maybe more...does anyone recall, just off the tops of your heads, if any of these other Cs had these same poor pumps etc??
