I would love to have a 1926 Six Speed special to as it would be worth a fortune as it would more than likely be a prototype.

The six speed special were not made until 1927 with only 24 made that year, then 1928 had 20,400 made.

Would really like to find out a serial number so we could confirm a year.

Trevor, the motor number is in one of the pictures : Model XA222E No. 151589 Date Aug 1928
another data plate showing: XA222D No. 144793 Date may 1928
another data plate showing: XA222E No. 211105 Date June 1929

Lots of pictures posted, and at least two more motors, one rear axle and one front axle

I sent the seller a polite message inviting him to join the site and that we believe his truck to be a year or two newer.

The man selling this truck sent me a nice email thanking us.

He could have inadvertently typed a 6 instead of a 9? Wish him good luck in his sell. I think it might have been put together from several vehicles? At least with all the extra parts shown, that is my thoughts.

From what I understand he's selling donated vehicles that don't presently fit the Museum's plan.
I see an original unrestored truck with extra parts?
What does everyone else here see? Is it cobbed together from multiple vehicles?

Looks like an original truck to me but without being able to kick its tyres hard to say for sure.

Just read this
Overview

Although this International Harvester truck is complete it is going to be a project for someone. The engine in the truck has a date of June 1929 but the truck is registered as a 1926.

If it was close by to me at that price I would jump at it too. Looks to be complete and I would say pulled out of a barn not that long ago. Don't know why but all the extra pictures wont load up for me so very hard to have a proper look at it.
