Did you try it without the S? S just means it had a two-speed rear axle.

I did but the vin wasn't real clear so thought I would check for a second opinion.

Not trying to make your life hard but are you reading the ID plate or the frame?
If the ID plate is weak you can verify by looking in right front spring area of frame for the stamped number.

The number is correct but my charts show the C-30 as being built in 1935 with that number and the CS-30 as being built in 1936 with that number. I don't have a listing for the CS-35 and not sure if it is the same as the CS-30

CS-30 and C or CS-35 are two different trucks.

CS-35 build numbers

1935 = 501-921
1936 = 922-5086
1936 = 5087-

So 3685 would be a 1936

C-30 build numbers are

1934 = 501-2139
1935 = 2140-23530
1936 = 23531-49573
1937 = 49574-

CS-30
1935 = 501-1996
1936 = 1997-3970
1937 = 3971-
