1937 IHC D-2 Steering Wheel Removal

Does anyone have any experience removing the steering wheel off a 1937 International Harvester D-2? I removed the horn button and horn button pieces. I removed the big nut in the center too. However, the steering wheel just won't come out. I don't want to ruin it because it's the original steering wheel. Any suggestions? Thank you.

type in " steering wheel puller " in the search function at the top of the page: User Control Panel • FAQ • Search
It will bring up a picture of an original Steering Wheel Puller, and at least one other way that someone pulled theirs.
Make sure that the big nut is on the threads to protect them and the end of the shaft, do not want buggered up threads or mushroomed shaft. Spray some lubricant around the shaft to help Loosen the "old" (what ever is there) then, slow steady pressure, very close to the shaft.
That's the best that I can do.
