Leaf springs

Was just pulling the front leaf springs off my 39 D2.... intent was to take them to
a suspension specialist to have them supplemented with an additional spring...why?
because as it sets, with the wheels on the ground, the front springs lay flat... no arc....
Figured that if a "helper" leaf was added it would keep me from bottoming out.....
Anyway, the purpose of the post is to see if anybody else has issues with a negative arc
on their front springs? Also, upon spring removal, one of the front springs, driver's side,
has a CHEVROLET bow tie insignia stamped onto it.... in two places..... the passenger side
does not.... the springs are identical.... upon reviewing spring specialists web sites, I looked
to see if any CHEVY front spring met the measurements of the removed springs... and of course
none due.....

Any insights?

Re: Leaf springs

there are a few companies out there that will make new springs. denver spring is one, though they seemed a bit pricey when i was in the market.

i went with rearching, to save some money, though i know that's not the best solution.

if one is stamped with a bowtie, likely it was a salvage unit from a PO. in high school, i put '51 chevy pickup springs under the back of my '64 fairlane. she rode kinda stiff after that. lol

not sure on the negative arch thing. the front springs on my '56 s-120 don't have a lot of arch in them...some manufactures do use a negative or flat arch spring. my old blazer was that way.

someone with more knowledge will weigh in...
