Coal Scuttle/Shovel nose trucks

Over the past few week Mike,Bill,Jim and myself have started to put together a list of as many of these trucks as we can, we have had some fantastic finds and im sure we will find some more, we are also linking together as many of the owners as we can so if you find any more of these trucks please let us know.

Here is one of the finds this week, its a picture of 3 buses that ran from Melbourne to Stkilda here in Australia. Pictures thanks to the WHS

Re: Coal Scuttle/Shovel nose trucks

I was at the NATMUS in Auburn Indiana and they had a dozen or so nice old binders in the basement. I'll post up some more pics when I get a chance. Have to figure out how to resize pics from my iPad.

One of them was a fully restored shovel nose.

Re: Coal Scuttle/Shovel nose trucks

Sent you the one pic I had, Trevor. If I knew they were that rare, I'd have gotten more.

Once I get the app to resize pics and figure out how to use it, I'll post them all.

Nice little museum, just north of Fort Wayne, IN. Highly recommend it, and the Auburn Cord Deusenberg museum right next door is amazing.

Re: Coal Scuttle/Shovel nose trucks

awesome finds, guys! The power of networking! imagine the difference in communication represented by the "bus article" in those early days in Australia, compared to now! I think you guys are doing a fantastic job. Stuff like that makes a great forum, and I certainly hope we are more "secure" these days. Great job on that, Jim!

Trevor,...amazing bus pics
Gary,...love those pics from Auburn. Must make it down there some time.
