New for me 1924 IHC truck

I just became the new owner of a 1924 IHC truck last weekend. I bought it from the original owner's son. It has not been started or out of the barn since 1941. Engine is not stuck but needs some TLC for sure. Cab was made by a company in Cincinnati and tag is still there. It appears that the truck was originally red.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what model this is and where a s/n# might be on it. Is this the same engine as a Farmall Regular?

I need a few parts that I can see so far. The radiator guard is missing. I don't have the key. I could use some better fenders and engine side covers or I could fix the existing ones. They have rust from all the dirt sitting on them for many years.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to the Pre30 club ooops now Pre40(new forum)

Great looking barn find you have, i will have a look tonight and add some pictures of what the key should look like, getting bonnet sides made is not that hard i had some made here is australia for mine, front radiator gaurd once we work out what model it is will post some pictures.

Now to find a serial number look on the side of the chassis between the front and front axle left hand side or Drivers side for you and you should find it stamped in, once we have this we can work out what it is and when it was made.

Odd looking tires on the back of that rig- solid rubber? Willing to bet they're not stock. Maybe axle not either. I'll leave that to the experts on here.
Nice truck!

Great looking truck. You will have lots of fun with that. I think that i would take the ignition switch to an old lock smith. Once he picks it he can get the cylinder out and make a key. Keep the progress reports coming. Jim G

Welcome Penrod. Great truck you have there. Along with Trevor, I'd sure like to watch the progress of such a restoration. Trevors was truly amazing! Manny

Re: New for me 1924 IHC truck

The only number I am finding so far is on the left side of the frame up front. It looks like a L7378 or the sevens could be ones. I doubt this has had any transplants as it was owned by the same family since new and they are not recalling anything that was changed. They basically put it in the barn in 1941 since it was so slow on the road.

I will work on getting a better pic of the ignition switch. First job now is getting new tires on the front.
