1938 International D2 Questions

Hello, some questions regarding my father's 1938 D2 pickup, we are looking for brake springs and adjusters, I see from the "Parts Link" that the brake spring kit is Dorman P/N HW7139, I also see a P/N HW402, brake adjuster springs. Is this included in the spring kit or is it an additional part required? Also, does anyone have a part number for the brake adjuster itself? All four adjusters we have seem to be different lengths.

Also, the headlight bezels on the truck currently do not fit properly. In my research I have found that the Guide/BLC headlight buckets in that era all had interchangeable bezels and headlight retainers. I'm not sure but it seems that the headlight buckets could be Guide 682J, would these bezels be correct for the International buckets:

With these headlight retainers?

I believe I have original lenses and reflectors, etc. Have to check if the reflectors are still useable.

Also, the trim on the grill and hood is plastic adhesive stuff, not the correct stainless trim. I'd very much like to find a set of grill trim and hood trim. I found this listing on ebay: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1937-1938-1939- ... 4366380845
But I'm not sure if it's correct for this truck, and it seems that the seller believes that the long moldings are for all the same side. I'm uncertain if that's going to be of much help, although this stuff seems pretty hard to come by. I've had a saved search on ebay for the grill moldings for several years. There was an incomplete set for around $400 US on there for a while, but that seemed awfully steep to me... Any suggestions anyone might have would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Re: 1938 International D2 Questions

Hi Mike,

It's been 8 years since I did the brakes on My D2 but I'm almost sure You need both spring kits. As for the grill moldings, very hard and expensive to find in good condition. Someone posted this link on one of the facebook groups, don't know anything about them but might be worth a call.

Thanks George, that's great. Looks like they should be able to duplicate the moldings pretty closely. Looks awesome, and sounds fairly reasonable as well, I appreciate your help.

You will need both springs kits in order to get what you need.
