Re: D2 HD213 HEAD REMOVAL

No real progress. Had a few other distractions recently. Still applying penetrating oil regularly. Ran motor, with nuts loosened, long enough to build some heat and then re-oiled. Seepage from the head gasket does seem to be increasing in some spots. So, as expected the gasket may be separating but all of those studs (21 of them) are still hanging on. Hoping to spend some time on this over the weekend.
Thanks for your interest,

Re: D2 HD213 HEAD REMOVAL

Unless you are able to get the cylinder pressure up by loading the running engine by working it, the head may not loosen as quickly as you would like. Another option is to use a shop airline adapter to spark plug hole fitting. If you have one of those wimpy compressors that max out at 100psi, the shop air trick may not work. You may have to go back to my original suggestion of the hole saw.
