1928 international

I am looking for a water pump for a 6 cylinder lycoming motor, I have a picture of one in my other 1928 restored. If anybody can help me, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks Don

Re: 1928 international

I have an early 1928 6 Speed Special 1 ton truck. I thought the Lycoming engines were not used after 1927.
My truck has a Waukesha engine and has NO water pump! A couple of interesting items about the early 6 Speed Special trucks is that the gas tank in mine is under the dash and the later ones were under the drivers seat. My truck has only rear wheel brakes and the later ones have 4 wheel brakes.

Re: 1928 international

Your right about the 1 ton does not have the lycoming motor but the truck I have is a 1 ton 1/2, which has that motor. Thank you for your reply on this.

Re: 1928 international

I don't currently know of one but will keep my eyes open. The motor shown is spoken for by another member, I found it in a collectors yard in Cheyenne. I am a little confused by your comment that you have one but it is off a S26.Both the S24 and S26 are S trucks with the second digit designating the number of cylinders. I thought the Lycoming 4 cyl used thermal syphon? MM

MM

You are spot on with the model code and the Lycoming CT 4 cylinder engines do not have a water pump only use autosypohon and as i have found out you need to be 100% sure your radiator is not blocked at all to have it work properly.

Mike Holiday over and back to sunny hot home is it. :(

Re: 1928 international

we were -6 C in the early am, but as it got sunny it approached zero. Pretty cold for these parts so near to our spring, and the grass already sprouting up. Your "hot"sounds good to me, but your sentence reads kinda cryptic--not sure what you said there. I'm glad my BD240 has a pump, as it really could not survive without one. Amazing how they made those old engines even cool on 'autosuction'!! I love reading all the stuff on these pre 30's. Manny
