Yes not nice to have the crease/slice in the bonnet but the one great thing was it wasnt at a show with the bonnet/hood up and lots of people around looking, we have a show this weekend coming and we plan to put a bandaid over the damaged area to act as a reminder to everyone to make sure they check out the fan on their restorations.
Sent the fan away a couple of days ago to have new blades & balance it is ready and will be picking it up today so will put up some pictures later, they said it was metal fatigue why it broke and a second one had also started to crack, they also said you wouldnt have been able to pick up the fatigue crack with a visual look.

While out and about we had another play with the video camera and we managed to get the bang on it, its at about the 20 second mark.

This is just a short video filmed by Ross on the mobile yesterday while we travelled back from Clunes on Sunday, sat on a comfortable 50 kph/30mph nice and steady all the way home with no dramas. 105 k's/60 miles in 2hrs 10 min so was a good steady run.

Outside Temp was 37c/100f, truck ran at about 80c for most of the trip with the down hill runs it dropped to about 65c and the up hill hauls it would creep to about 85c.

funny how they had the steering on the right side, and mine has it on the correct side:) I really hope to visit Oz sometime, but I need manna ($$) from heaven for that ever to happen! Manna,....Manny,....Manna, get it?

We are now getting ready for a trip planned for late April it is a road run from Sydney back to Yass driving along the old hume highway (similair to your rout 66) the trip is a one day event and covers about 150 miles of the old highway/goat track, there are 260 trucks entered but talk is could be another 150-200 tag along as well all trucks are 25 years old or older, we start leaving Sydney at around 7.00am then have a truck show at Gunning were we stop for a couple of hours for lunch before finishing at Yass.

Got a couple of small things to fix on the truck before then, even had some advise from JD today about putting doors on the old girl LOL.

This run is held in Sydney about 1000km's/600 miles from home every 2 years and is one of the must do's, they even get a farmer who has got about 16k's/9 miles of the old road on his property to open up the fence and let us use that part of the old highway, Dad is taking his Bedford on the run and as he drove this road for a living back in the 50's & 60's it will be real special to be able to do the run with him, im sure we will have lots of pictures to share.

Enjoying the truck you bet no use leaving in the shed gathering dust.
