Re: 1927 international for sale on ebay

Here is another question about the truck . If you look at the photos of the interior why does it have the cut out in the floor were the gas line would go through, I have a parts catalog from a S 24 AND S 26, and it shows the tank in the cab with gas door on cowl . If members could help me It would greatly appreciated . I am ready to make a deal on the truck but I can not, until I now what I am dealing with. Thank you again and I am still try to get more info from the owner ,but he is not working with me to well, Don

Re: 1927 international for sale on ebay

I am not seeing the cut out in the floor, however, I don't see a hole in the dash where the fuel inlet would have gone through. I would think it would be a simple matter for the owner to look and confirm if there is a gas tank under the seat or not.

I know in early 1928 the 6 Speed Special had the gas tank under the dash and then later in '28 it was put under the seat. Maybe the S24/26/34/36 are the same way, as I have seen a 1927 S24 with the gas tank under the dash.

Re: 1927 international for sale on ebay

Just a thought, it is the day before Christmas, and with tomorrow being Christmas, he might be "involved" Some people forget that the auction goes on even when it is a holiday. Just my thoughts, it looks to be in very nice shape overall and that is not a bad price, if you think it is worth it. I see no one has bid on it yet.
Anyway, Have a good Christmas yourself.

Re: 1927 international for sale on ebay

If the hood is original to the truck it is 27 or earlier due to not having the rubber bumper type hood latches. Note the extra little bracket that sticks out from the hood that is riveted on below catch. This bracket would push against the barrel of the hood latch.
My late 27 S-26 has the rubber bumper type latches. It also still has the fuel filler under the cowl vent hood.
In early 28 the cowl vent hood was eliminated and the filler neck extended up through the cowl. Sometime late 28 or early 29 the cowl mounted gas tank was dropped and the under seat tank with vacuum tank fuel feed was put in place.
Also this truck has the early style front fenders that do not have splash aprons that extend to the back of the cab.
The cab on this truck I believe to be the International built enclosed cab the was introduced in the 28 Model year likely March or April. (My best guess) So my belief is that the cab has come from a late 28, 29 or early 30 truck and was transplanted onto this truck sometime during it's working life. Also note the speedometer which has the reset button inset into the face. This speedo came into use sometime in 28.
