Thanks Yankeefan150. That's exactly what I needed to know. I'll be posting pics when she's done for sure.

Much obliged.

My 1937 D-2 does not even have an oil filter. Were oil filters an option?- Stickman207

Re: Oil Filter Canister & Sock Filter Questions

It is possible to adapt a modern spin-on/off oil filter relocation system to an engine that did not have an optional filter. http://pacbrake.com/performance/accessories/ IT IS IMPORTANT TO INSTALL A FLOW RESTRICTOR IN THE LINE FROM THE ENGINE TO THE FILTER The pressurised oil from the engine should not be allowed to flow to the filter without restriction or the pressurised lube oil pressure to the engine could drop low enough and oil to the bearings may not be high enough to provide proper lubricant. The oil return should be plumbed to return to the oilpan. It may be possible that an older engine may have the return as part of the OEM
Someone on this should have the restrictor size. My guess, and this is only a guess the restrictor should be .0625" (1/16") Just about any filter that fits the filter adapter should work and be so much better than nothing.
BTW: WE are using the PAC-BRAKE filter relocation kit on the Cummins 4bta for my son's L110 4X4 Shorty build. This Pac Brake kit is a very high quality and made in Canada. There will be options made in USA for those south of the 49th. Please buy CANADIAN. Our dollar is just over 70 cents USD and this will give our American Cousins a 30% discount.
