D2 Hood Hinges

How do you remove the pins from the hood hinges? I have one frozen up pretty bad, don't want to damage it worse trying to remove it the wrong way.

Re: D2 Hood Hinges

Here in dry CA Kroil or PB Blaster with gentle wiggling of the hood sections usually does the trick.
In really rusty climes I don't know.

Re: D2 Hood Hinges

The center hinge is riveted in place onto the top two hood sections... your can drill out the rivets to remove the hinge... it comes out in one piece...
The batwing hinges are rods/pins that can be removed by soaking in penetrating oil, and using a drift or .250 rod as a drift, carefully drive them out... advice: look for the taper on the end of the rods, and drive from the opposite end... the taper helps guide the rod thru the multiple hinge components.
