Re: dash help on a A-2

Once again, you have me stumped.
Why block off the speedo?
Either the glass broke and they didn't want to look at it, or
A speedo is ridiculous or not needed on something that goes 35 mph max?
Would the factory block it like that?
Again, I don't know.
The e brake with or without the squeeze handle?
Other folks will chime in but there's more than one style e brake handle?

The red truck has a button at the top of the "brake" handle, I have had a couple of different trucks with that type of "park" brake handle. Press the button at the top and it releases the "pawl" that keeps the brake engaged when you pull the handle back.
on the missing speedo, perhaps the truck was used only at very low speed and the speedo was not needed for that reason?
Just my observation.

I just looked over the Model A-2 spec sheet at Wisconsin Historical, it says speedometer was standard equipment. Guessing it must have quit and so they blanked it off. That seems like a lot of work when you could just as well ignore it.
