Hello,
I have 2 Red Diamond Engines I believe both are 406 displacements. One looks like its the original 6 volt and the other has been updated to 12v. The 6v is seized. Both have 5 speed transmissions bolted to them. The 6v also has a 3 speed brownie.
Any idea what these are worth? Im planning on doing a different engine/transmission in this truck but want the Reds to go to someone thatll use them instead of scrap.
Thank you!

I don't know what they are worth, but where are they located? I might be interested if the price is right. Mike

Flatbed,
I may be interested in the brownie. Do you have a model number?
Thanks,

IIRC When I sold my 406, it was a running, complete engine and I got $350 for it. Demand is low, they aren't a big draw. I sold mine about 5 years ago when scrap was high.

Sorry, I get busy and forget to check back here.
Im located in a small hamlet called Adrian, Oregon.
Ive decided to take the cab off the frame and put it onto a medium duty truck, but Im going to keep the original frame, engine and brownie I think for now. The truck has factory air brakes and after talking to DOT its going to be a huge mess to get them to give the truck a stamp, but I want to keep the original stuff for now in case one day in the future I decide to put it all back and restore it correctly.
So that means I will only have one 406 and 5speed trans for sale its the one with the 12v conversion. Its already pulled and ready to go. I would take any offer on it really. It sounds like it isnt worth much.
Thanks

Hey guys Im bringing this up again as I have decided to sell the engines I have.
I have 2 Red Diamond 406 engines with 5 speed transmissions hooked to them. One is 12v and is newer maybe mid 50s the other is original 6v from 1948. The 6v is seized up.
What would be a good price to list these as?
I also have 2 auxiliary transmissions that I need to get the serial number off of. I believe they are both 4 speeds. Worth?
Any insight is appreciated
Thanks

I think Brownies are usually 3 speeds , the ones with overdrive are what I think are wanted

Brownies can be three or four speed. The model number will tell.
