here if no title, you have to send a registered letter to last known owner (if known) if it comes back undelivered or no known past owner, you then get a 3 year registered owner title,
in that 3 year time someone can claim it and take it from you, provided they have proof, so,,,,,,a historic document would be the preferred way to go if no title or previous owner info can be found,

with it you own it as soon as paper processes, usually 2 weeks.

Re: 1953 international title card

As has been stated, Check your state before a Purchase of a "historical Document"(I like that). Idaho is similar to Washington, but I think that here, if someone claims the vehicle in the three years, they have to reimburse documented restoration costs for the vehicle. That helps keep Honest people Honest. Here, they DO look at the frame and check for Chassis/vin. A Data plate matching the chassis does help. Most of these old trucks have been out of the system for so long that it is more just a formality and a three year Provisional title just so the state can collect more money.

I hope that you find a purchaser of your "Historical Documents"

Re: 1953 international title card

I allegedly let my "historic document and collectible plate" go for $150,

I thought that was fair, these aren't Corvette collectibles,

I didn't mean to dismiss your historic document, just sharing what I asked for mine, mine sat on my shelf with a few others for 35+ years so I guess I won't miss it,

by the way, the guy I allegedly sold it to, said it worked like a charm and now has a titled truck, (others results may vary)
