That’s not wasteland, that’s God’s country up there in Minnesota.

As of the 26th of this month I have lived in Minnesota 70 years. As I look at my thermometer right now it reads +2 degrees. We are about to go into the deep freeze tonight and it looks like a low of -25 degrees tomorrow night, after that we are not expected to have an above zero reading for eight consecutive days. Wind chills of -55.

My parents lived in Minnesota all their lives and upon retirement would depart for Apache Junction Arizona every January not to return until April.

I know what a frozen wasteland looks like. I feel bad for the animals that live outside on a week like this.

Coldest I've ever been in is somewhere below -40, the reason I don't know is any of thermometers didn't register below that! When it warmed to -35 or so in the day we went cross country skiing.
A few years ago I was trucking in -35 deg F! very few were on the roads, it was me and a another truck with Alaska plates running. This was between Belle Fourche, SD and Billings, MT.
On the ski trip the wind was light, so as long you were exercising it wasn't bad, once you stopped you really cooled down fast! We were in Jefferson, NH.
