A good pressure wash and a little Mother's Polish and it should be good to go.
I got an old hit and miss engine out of a Northern Alberta creek. It had been submerged for more than a decade. I took the block section to work and used the company press to push the piston out. I used a machined slug to distribute the load. At just over 10 tonnes the piston made a loud bang and started to move. Only the rings were destroyed. They came out as coarse dust. The engine was a Nelson Brother's Little Jumbo.
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have
