That sounds irresponsible.
Original rusted 356 bodies command really high prices. I doubt that a person could buy a not running but complete any 356 for under $25,000. All of the parts are available for restoration. https://www.pelicanparts.com/Porsche/index-SC.htm is a good source. I was told Porsche Factory are offering some assistance.
My 1964 356SC sold for over $100,000 usd.

Sounds like you weren't there! 1 at that time no one was repoping parts, even Pelican doesn't list for the early 356's (prior to 1956) 2 the damage was bad enough that the structure was compromised, 3 I had purchased a new front clip before having it stripped down, which is when I found many more issues and the full extent of the condition. The parts went to other people who could use them. I have no regrets about my decision. this was over 40 years ago.

If I were there, I would have called the police. You said, "but could take a residential 90 turn at over 55 mph!" That is irresponsible. Kids play on streets in residential neighbourhoods.

I was describing the type and space in which it would corner, a residential street is something most can picture. Enuf said.
