Hay Carbking

Do you remember a Holley progressive 2bbl based off the 2300? I remember seeing this many years ago, it had the throttle shafts 90 deg to the conventional 2300. I don't know the model and haven't see it in many years.

Re: Hay Carbking

Not the one I'm talking about. This was based off the 2300 series 2bbl. The one you posted was real common. Early Pinto and Chevette used it. Designed by Webber.

Re: Hay Carbking

Evidently it didn't stick around long cause I can find no info on it. I think I read about it in '70's or early 80's.
A 2300 is basicly the primary 1/2 of a 4bbl, this had the 2300 bolt patter but instead of the throttle shaft running thru both barrels, there were 2 seperate throttle shafts and I can't remember if it was vacuum or mechanical linked.
Ran on one bbl until it was 60% open then the secondary started to open just like the 4bbl's.
Much more capacity than the Holley/Weber design, it was for inline 6's, which likely explains why it went away so quick, few inlines were used by the 80's.

Re: Hay Carbking

the 2300 is an extremely common carb, not the one I was talking about. It was based on the 2300 but was a progressive 2bbl.

Cornbinder - sorry to take so long to answer, I only check the forums maybe once a week.

Basically, my area is 1974 back to 1897. I am unfamiliar with the model you mention.

Sorry.

Re: Hay Carbking

I'm beginning to think I made the whole thing up, however I have seen it in print and a picture of it. IIRC it was in Slant 6 and one member had one on his engine. Inlines were never very big in the aftermarket segment, but Clifford and other did make some part for them, and I saw this carb somewhere.

Re: Hay Carbking

Cornbinder - MAYBE ;)

The 1997 version of the Holley Performance Catalog lists:

0-80120 350 CFM Two Barrel Staged Linkage
0-80095 500 CFM Two Barrel Staged Linkage

These are both listed as model 2305, and the picture appears to be your mystery carb.

Sorry I do not know more about Holley carbs, but maybe these numbers can be a starting point for you.

EDIT: an 80095 sold on ebay. Do a search on Holley 80095. Then go to completed auctions, and click on the sold auction. Then click on original listing and there are pictures.
