Kinda pricey to buy on spec. Nope, I'm officially broke. Wait...it's PAYDAY. :)
There IS a GMC truck of this vintage in the hills behind me. Complete with original Pontiac flathead.
I LOVE these old cast wheels especially with hard rubber tires.
I "found" this wheel in the desert last spring. It's cheaper than the GMC ones.

BRJ, I'd love to learn about wooden spoke wheels. These are extra cool because they are heavy duty.
Stude, to boot.

There is a lot of interesting iron up that way. Is your buddy the guy west of town with all the old pick-ups? A little closer in to town, but still on the west side is a Sightliner tow truck. About 20 miles north there is a yard in Hilger,Mt that has a lot of 50's and early 60's IHC stuff.

CB, I've never been to his place, he sells on ePay, I bought a few trucks from him in the past, he has family near me so he delivers to Seattle area,

sometimes I don't get them for a while,

a few years back he showed up one day with a 1956 S series pickup I'd bought from him over a year before, I forgot I even bought it,,,, at least that's what I told the management :t1809:

I know a few guys with wood spoke cars, one guy has a 1920s Cadillac limo he found in a barn,

he told me the old boy he bought it from told him that people who had wood spoke cars would park them in a creek every now and then if the wood shrunk up too much,

the water would tighten them up,,,,,,,,,, according to him

Re: Because It Makes Me Happy

I shared previously that Honest Charlie Speed Shop/Coker Tire’s vast facility in Chattanooga, Tn. builds wooden spoke wheels to order. As of when I toured their place last year, they had over 300 patterns of different manufacturers. The people there are super friendly and probably could answer any questions about wheels you can think up. Really nice place and people.
L110 owner since 1974, finally rebuilt 2014.
