So far I am impressed with it. I don't have a leaking a/c system to check, but did need to find some small propane leaks that wouldn't reveal themselves with bubble leak check.
It found 3 small leaks all too small to smell or see with bubble check and was accurate enough to pin point which side of a threaded joint was leaking. (round pipe threaded into a fitting, going around the circumference, didn't just alert, but showed where on the circumference the leak was.
New, it was out of my budget, but I found a lightly used one with two sets of sensors, 2 for refrigerant 2 for combustible gas, for a reasonable price.
Just to check it out, I put the refrigerant sensor in and just removed the dust cap from a charge fitting on my car's A/C and it alerted on the residual refrigerant in the trapped space within the cap.
I'd recommend to anyone who doesn't do enough of either type gas to own one sniffer for each type.
