Re: WHAT DID YOU DO IN YOUR SHOP TODAY

This afternoon I had some free time so I made a frame transport dolly for the R150 frame I bought earlier this year. The frame is 247 inches long and 856 pounds. A frame transport dolly makes moving the frame easy for one person. I made a lighter duty frame transport dolly for my son's L110 frame.
The transport dolly steel parts came out of my scrap bin and I picked up 4 of these wheels on Craigslist for $5 each.
I pulled the pictured Husky compressor outside. It will going to a new home, soon, I hope.

I found my Bumper Buddies and took them out of retirement. The trunk monkey says it all and does not need any more explanation. The trunk monkey keeps the Youth Pastor/music minister, from across the lane, out of my shop.
The bearded guy looks like my friend MAGIHC MIKE. If a curious person lifts the beard, a 10 inch long penis fall out.

Maybe MAGIHC will attract more "interesting" persons. I may print out a DO NOT LIFT THE BEARD note. I know that always works.

Re: WHAT DID YOU DO IN YOUR SHOP TODAY

Yesterday I chased a tape measure around the shop. I am trying to improve the use of the floor space and make the shop more user friendly. While I had the tape measure out, I took a few swipes at the folding loading ramp, soon to become a bridge. I bought the ramp late last week.
I needed to get the ramp out of my truck so my son could sue the truck for moving some of his stuff. The kid and I parked the truck facing up-hill and slid the ramp out and onto my SnapOn creeper. Two ratchet straps hold the ramp from tipping. The ramp is over 200 pounds.
This creeper was expensive 25 years ago, but, it was money well spent. This creeper has been used to move heavy stuff, like Antique gas engines and a few IHC pickup boxes and me.
I have to deliver an ATLAS service station parts cabinet today. It will be replaced with the side cabinet I made for my main toolbox. This cabinet fit my situation when I was working, but, does not work so well now.

Re: WHAT DID YOU DO IN YOUR SHOP TODAY

After a rainy day and harvest virtually complete I took the time to work on a project that just kind of jumped out at me one day a while back while surfing the net. It may come as a surprise to some that I did not learn to drive on IH trucks. in fact it was a flathead Ford truck. 1946 vintage. The chassis was converted into a handy 2 wheeled bale wagon over 40 years ago and the cab and fenders just sat waiting. I needed a new ornament for the shop so there it was.

Re: WHAT DID YOU DO IN YOUR SHOP TODAY

Thanks for the compliment Mister "H". I like my shop and I appreciate having it.
I used to custom build these end cabinets on coffee breaks when I was still an employee. No two of the cabinets were the same. I put a $20 price on each end cabinet and the money went to the coffee fund. The person wanting a cabinet had to supply the all of materials including drawer slides, Tremclad Paint, handles hinges, latches and locks. The company painter would take care of the paint finish on his coffee break.
I was trying to do something nice for the guys I worked with while keeping my skills current. I think I made about 27 of these cabinets before I refused to do any more because of the "jerk-off factor."
I have three of my cabinets.

On a good note

I completed a wood tool chest for my son today.

Been whittling at since late last year from a salvaged water tank giving to me from a good friend.
I have been very fortunate to be the recipient of a couple redwood water tanks over the years using them for various projects.
This latest project has been the most satisfying

Thanks Loyd. love the wi fi comment

Funny Brian :)
