School Bus

So I bought a school bus, mainly for the engine. It's a '93 3800 65 passenger with a DTA360 and only 108,000 miles. This DTA is rated at 190 horsepower and 475 ft. lbs. of torque which compares favorably with the 160 hp/400 ft. lb. rating in '93 Dodge pickups. It weighs about the same as a Cummins 5.9ISB. And it's an INTERNATIONAL! The engine is part of the plan for my '56 S120. And yes I know it won't fit without modification.

P.S. I will be parting the rest of it out. I'll be putting an ad in swap meet.

Re: School Bus

Those busses are often 'early-retired' so you ought to have a good one.

Re: School Bus

that is a heck of a lot of scrap metal to deal with once you salvage the engine.

Re: School Bus

Yes it is, almost 7 tons. But when I'm done I'll have a really cheap engine and trans! It's worth a little less whole, but I may just tow it in as a rolling chassis, without the drive train.

If it stays around too long, I may have to use it as living quarters myself!
