Re: politic on the board

I get my American news on the American channels I have subscribed to. Canadian News is very conservative and cautious in what they offer on US politics. My wife has subscribed to German News.
I am reminded of the time I spent in a big city police traffic department. My job was serious and fatal accident recreation for presentation to court and a coroner's court. Part of that job was tying the witness reports together. This included different views from points of view.
Without the news, from different points of view, how will any person educate themselves on what is happening around themselves?.
I do not offer a personal opinion.

Let us hope that kind of feature might show up in an updated forum software. Oh, and Nikki, I get my news from many sources also. Including from other countries. This has been an enjoyable discussion.

I watched the SOTU yesterday. Nancy Pelosi is a classic beauty.

Maybe "El Chapo" will step up and pay for it in exchange for a lighter sentence. What a world we live in today.

Re: politic on the board

I'm all for well guarded and regulated borders but in this day and age a wall makes about as much sense and is as relevant as the great wall of china. Trump promised during his campaign some 200 times that Mexico would pay for it. I didn't think for one minute that would happen. Now all of a sudden it is the burden of the US tax payer to the tune of billions to build something that a shovel will get you under and a ladder will get you over. This is farcical when considering that illegal crossings are at an all time low in the the last decade and now we have a supposed ''State of Emergency"? This is nothing more than abuse of and an overstepping of presidential power. We can all watch billions more tax dollars get wasted as this gets bogged down in the courts both federal and state. All money that could have gone to things like education and infrastructure, or possibly help to reduce our 22 trillion dollar deficit all due to one mans ego.

I am an independent so party does not matter to me as much as common sense. I think history will look back at this debacle as a very dark time for us.
