1941 Mack

I bought sheetmetal, tonight. Rough but fixable cab, hood, doors, windshield frame. Front fenders but gotta go get them. I'm thinking Mack Jr pickup, of course.
No grille. Ouch.
Cheap, though.
Pictures, tomorrow.
Bed is strange in pictures. Mack, only?
Rear fenders look kinda like D Series IHC.( in some photos).

Re: 1941 Mack

The Mack Jr was a "badge engineered" truck (built by someone else and Mack put their name on it) But I can't remember who designed it. The folks at JOT or one of the Mack sites will know and be able to answer any questions.

Re: 1941 Mack

It was a Reo. Pretty sure.

You're taking me too literally, CB. :)

I'm REALLY going to make a Mack JR. A real Mack pickup. With cast wheels like in the pucture.

Frame looks to be Chevy. It's pretty...but. NOT Mack.
Fender looks like 38/39 Ford Pickup..

Re: 1941 Mack

Bought the original Mack E Series Maint. Manual off ebay.

I was able to source two Continental flathead six motors like would've been in the small E Series pickup like the ED. One was in a an old Clark forklift and the other is unidentified but comes with early updraft manifold, bellhousing, transmission. Continentals have the dist. sticking out of the head.
Larger Macks had a Mack motor.

Re: 1941 Mack

Mack used both Continental amd Mack engines.
The ED Pickup used the "EN-11" Continental.

Here's an unusual wiring diagram. I don't see them like this very often.

Re: 1941 Mack

So the Mack engines had babbit bearings and the Continental engines had insert bearings, or did I get that turned around?
