In 1975 my wife bought me a $350 craftsman set. At that time that was a pretty nice set.
I was working part time in a shop in the late 80;s and the whole set was stolen. It was still a complete set.

Your statement hits home. I was raising 4 boys with a stay home wife. I worked night shift setting up envelope folding machines and part time automotive. All wrenching jobs
