I am on Craigslist several times a day. It is one of my spare change and time-wasting hobbies. I watch for that rare tool or that one tool I need to complete a set. If I see the right toolbox I am on it like a dog on a bone.
A few weeks ago I found a RIDGID tube bender for 1/2" tube on Craigslist. I finally called about it and picked it up an hour ago. It is as new in the original box and unused. I paid $200 less than the manufacturer's suggested retail price.
There is no substitute for the right tool. If I never use this tube bending tool, it has already done a great job of making me feel good. :t3909:

This is a fairly rare tool/machine that I did know I need. As far as that goes, I still do not know that I need this machine. It is a Disston Band saw kerf setter. Also sold by Hunther Brothers, E. C. Atkins and The Rotary File Company, the probable maker. I have had the saw vise that goes with this machine, for 30 years or longer. 79650

I will most likely clean it up a little and display it next to my Goodell Apple peeler. The apple peeler works OK, but the peeler knife needs a little TLC.
This video is what I thought might be the best of several on You Tube.

Today, I was fortunate to find a DISSTON saw file vise. It is the companion to the Disston kerf setting machine. I will freshen it with a WD40 wipe-down and leave it as it is.
This vise looks like it may have never seen service. I have another saw filing vise.
The only thing better than one file vise is two file vises. I have used my other file vise to hold a clipboard on a lathe.
I have developed a nose for detecting old iron. It has taken a lifetime of practice. That in combination with a bunch of good luck can make magic happen. I have left my contact information with many secondhand shops. When they call, it is important to move immediately or get dropped.
I am still looking for an International K and KB tachometer.

Coke was on sale at COSTCO today. I got two flats for my b'day gift.
Costco opens to seniors a hour earlier. My wife carted over $700 and was out and one her way in well under an hour.
I have a stainless toolbox for a file cabinet, in my office space. The Coke Zero always gets the lower right drawer.

I bought this Craftsman hydraulic pop-rivet gun, for $5 at a secondhand store. It was not working. The hydraulic oil was low. After topping up the oil, I was able to use the "gun" for several years. It worked really well, until, the tip shattered.
This rivet gun feels like a high quality tool, so I have not tossed it in the scrap-bin. I have not been able to find a replacement tip. I hope someone on this forum might have some information for me.
Thank for looking.
