Re: WHATS IN YOUR TOOL BOX?

I'm trying to remember what timeframe Sears used the Craftsmen Commercial trade mark for their heavy duty tools, my mind is blank. I know it was used in the 70's.

I have to find a saw that was my fathers, I'm sure it's out in the garage somewhere.

Re: WHATS IN YOUR TOOL BOX?

:t3909: I bought a bunch of small parts bins on AMAZON. The price worked out to about $3 each for 30 bins. So the bins arrive after a few delays and a day or two late. The bins are of a very poor quality and not suitable for use other than in a metal, divided parts cabinet. After AMAZON notified me that my order had been processed and on the way, a seller on CRAIGSLIST posted 30 much higher quality small parts bins to match the bins I had from before. The Craigslist seller was asking $1 each for 30 bins, take all. Of course, I called and bought all 30. The Amazon set had been donated to a local metal shop high school teacher.
This has been my lucky week.

Re: WHATS IN YOUR TOOL BOX?

Where did the time go? More than 2 years have passed.
Old age is really catching me up. My wife insisted that I get hearing aids. I agreed rather than tell her that I had her on selective ignore.
My wife found a company called Hear at Home and the kindly owner came to our home and gave me "THE TEST" OMG 38% left in the right ear and 68% in the left ear. The lady got out her Roto Rooter and cleared my ear wax and fitted a $6,000 set of hearing aids. Now, I can hear a pin drop. I used to listen at 56 with my BOSE headphones and now I am OK at 20+/-
Hearing aids with a few options get to be very expensive. Fortunately, we were able to have about half the cost covered.
I have not been to the garage to look at my tools in about 2 years. This is the week that I hope to get out there.

Re: WHATS IN YOUR TOOL BOX?

I was cruising around Craigslist a few daze ago. There was two sets of nesting hammers for sale @ $5 each. I called the seller and offered him an extra $5 for each set if her was willing to deliver. He is about 10 blocks from me. He agreed and shortly after there was a knock on the door and our poodle set off barking.
I have several sets of these nesting tools. They usually start off as a hammer. Even though these tools are basic crap, the machining is good.
These sets are made by GAMM in Germany.
I have had a small passing interest in these tools, but I would not find myself searching for them. I have several other sets from the days when I was buying and selling toolboxes. I think the sellers thought. "I can leave this crap in the back of a drawer and this will take them away.
I am trying to down-size a few pictures. No luck, yet.

Re: WHATS IN YOUR TOOL BOX?

Very cool sounds like good quality most are junk.
I have a nesting antique hand drill with wooden cap and handle
as well as a matching nesting hammer..
I got them at at yard sale years ago, unusual to find them as
a set.

Post a pic when your able..
