Re: pulmonary embolism

I am in an out-patient program that requires my attendance at the hospital Fast Track program, daily. This will continue on for the foreseeable future. It is made to be as easy as possible for the patient. Park, go inside, get tested get injected and leave. The program is designed to be less than 15 minutes, in and out. The handicapped parking is appreciated and takes me closer to the door. It is all good.

"get injected, detected and selected"? Do you have to sit on the group W bench?

Nikki, it's good to know that you are finally home, even if the trip involved a few more trials and tribulations than you were anticipating.

AZD. Your coffee recipe reminds me of the coffee my grandmother used to make. My brother and I stayed with Gran while our mother was not available. Gran used to pour a cup of NABOB into her tapered tall blue porcelain coffee pot and bring it to a boil on her wood and coal cook stove. She put a few drops of cold water on the top of the coffee to send the grounds to the bottom. My brother was 6 and I was 7 at that time. We each got coffee at b'fast with a big spoon of sugar and lots of heavy cream that would float on the coffee. Some toast with home made butter and crab apple jelly, some SUNNY BOY cereal and we were set for the day.
It was 1951 when Rural Electrification came to our farm community. Gran did not give up her old BEATTY washing machine for some years. The back porch had a trap door in one wall for the flat belt. One end was attached to a John Deere E type 1 1/2 hot and miss engine, the other end went to a pulley on the Beatty. I have the JD "E" type engine and it is in my shop. The little JD still runs really well and it is 92 years old.. Gran was born in Denmark in 1883. Her Danish family home is in good repair and has become a heritage site. My restored WF and John Barnes drillpress was made in the same year that Gran was born.

when I was in high school on the swim team, one of the guys had that memorized and would recite it in its entirety during the bus ride to swim meets. Still cracks me up.

Re: pulmonary embolism

That is me on the right side of the picture. A real plumber's butt.
there will not be any shop time until next week at the earliest and then with supervision. Bumps and cuts have become a really big deal. The hospital out-patient program is working really well for me. I am within a CH of where they want me to be.

COPY AND PASTE:
I just found out that an old friend from decades ago is in end of life care in this hospital. Our daughters are the same age went to school together . My friend and I used to walk around our neighborhood while pushing our toddler daughters in strollers. This was 25+ years ago.
He has pancreatic cancer that started in his prostate.
GET CHECKED. It is a simple blood test. My friend is younger than I.

I was just told that my friend has died after lingering on for weeks. I hope he had some peace and did not suffer. He was everybody's friend and he will be missed by many.
Condolences are not necessary.
