pulmonary embolism

I didn't see this one coming. I'm in the hospital emergency bristling with sensors. An x-ray and a CTS exposed my problem. I'm wired to a serious monitor and an oxygen bottle.
On the instructions of our family doctor, my wife called 911. In a few minutes I was surrounded by first responders ambulance.
So, the future is not certain and without some risks, but there is a plan that will hold me here for some time. The prognosis is good.
The medical staff are very nice and make a bad situation as pleasant as is possible.
My life insurance runs out on my 70th birthday, so I should be around that long. Watch for the tool and Binder Bits sale, if I don't "make it ". My son and daughter are good with tools, so, ma........

Re: pulmonary embolism

I am very pleased to have our "socialist" medical system. I do not have to pay anything. It is free to me. The system supplied free ear plugs so I could sleep.
The parade of characters through here is interesting, to say the least. The police brought one guy in and there is an arm guard. The patient is bright yellow and could pass for a Simpson. I get moved out of emergency in a few hours. The serious work starts today.
Thanks for your get well wishes. I'm cooperating 100% and this is the most I can do. The oxygen has an unusual odor, but not unpleasant.

Re: pulmonary embolism

I missed the grim reaper by a millimeter. While I like a surprise, this would not be my first choice.
The nurses are easy to look at.

Best wishes and hope for speedy return to the Ford. The reason hospital O2 smells funny is it doesn't have acetylene mixed in like we are used to sniffing!

Re: pulmonary embolism

That's not oxygen, the blue bottle is nitrous. It'll speed up your recovery. Get well , brother. You're in our prayers.
