Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

My neighbour set out his 20 gallon HUSKY compressor with a FREE sign on it. My son wheeled it home and plugged it in. NOTHING! He then pressed the reset button on the motor and, WHAT'S THAT NOISE? It blows.
We have a nice compressor for sale for $100 with a month warranty. Pick up only.

Aren't technologically challenged people fun. Have not found anything that good, but most things I find just need a fuse or a wire reconnected.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

The compressor took just a little more TLC to get it working really well. On the first test run, the copper line from the compressor to the tank fractured. Fortunately we have the right stuff in stock and in 30 minutes there was a new hard line. The cheap plastic regulator had a hair-line crack, so I tossed it and put in one MADE IN USA. Finally the test run, again and all is well. 0-150 in 7 minutes. It sure is not an INGERSOL like the shop unit.

Between what you are having for dinner and those who follow you around, sounds like you're living the "Life of Riley". And they keep saying Florida is paradise. Go figure.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

Every so often a second-hand-store gives up a little treasure. This time it was a nice wood box with a bunch of Vintage KLEEN-LINE pinstriping heads with extra bottles, a BEUGLER pinstriping tool with a few repair parts and an AMERO pinstriping tool, similar to the BUEGLER. The AMERO has a few spare parts. This was a budget breaking $20. This is a nice addition to a PAASCHE air-brush kit I picked up a few years ago.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

SWEET! You spent $20 and it cost me $200 for two stripes by my builder.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

$200 is about right for this area. I'm thinking that there is some quick and easy profit to be made.
Just for fun and a little practice, I put some RUSTOLEUM yellow pinstripes on some old Toolboxs and some other stuff where it doesn't matter. A few cubic centimeters of paint will make a long stripe. I'm guessing that a cc could make about 4-5 meters of .0625" wide line.
The striping tool I tried is made by EMBEE In England and sold in USA by MARSHALLTOWN. There is one on eBay now.
