Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

Finally a bright moment in the covid19 overcast daze.(sp) I spotted this on Craigslist and my son picked it up for me. $20 is a good deal for a real Vise Grip.
This came from the same seller as the Ridgid tube bender of two weeks ago. 59821

Whoops, I did it again. I cannot pass on a good deal. This is good therapy for covid19 cabin fever.
I do not have any use for this Allen E-1415 Syncrograph distributor tester. I can set up an old points distributor, now.
I was given one of these machines about 20 years ago. Someone in that shop forgot and tossed it in the scrap.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

This last week I was called by the owner of a used book store. I had left my name with him. I am interested in buying old machine operator's manuals and parts catalogues.
The seller had found about 20 of these in his long time storage area. Most of the manuals are for South Bend Lathes. I got one SB parts catalogue and a manila envelope with 20+ parts order forms. I have several South Bend, How to Operate a Lathe manuals, now. My South Bend is a 16X120
There is one owners operating manual/parts catalogue for my two speed transmission 14 inch Delta Rockwell band saw.
If anyone is interested in manuals for a Standard Modern Lathe. let me know.
I should not forget the vintage Starrett catalogues.
A few years ago, I bought an eBay International Harvester LB stationary engine manual. It came from Texas. It is bi-lingual, French and English, for the Canadian market. 60260
I am trying to keep a little busy so I don't get cabin fever from covid19 lock-down.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

A man buys an old gold ring for his wife. He found it in a secondhand store. After buying the ring he had some engraving done on it.
After opening the gift, the wife reaches for her glasses for a better look. She asks, "Why does it say, DO NOT RESUSCITATE"

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

I was cruising Craigslist this afternoon. This very heavy duty steel cabinet was posted 21 minutes before. The seller was asking $50. I called. My son and I picked the cabinet up an hour later.
This much larger bolt bin/10 drawer cabinet will replace the cabinet I have been using for over 30 years.

Nice find, I'm jealous. Then again, I don't have room for something like that if I did find one.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

As part of my therapy for covid19 induced cabin fever I have been perusing Craigslist for some more feel-good. Today was another lucky day. This seller has a fairly rare CRESCENT TOOL, Vise Grip over-center locking "C" clamp for sale. I was the first caller. The weather has turned to unpleasant and the seller lives not too far away, so I offered him $5 above his asking price to deliver. He accepted and all is well, once again.
It is very unlikely that I will ever use this tool, but, it is doing the job I bought it for. I feel good.

I really do not have the room for more stuff, but I will endure. This cabinet will replace a much smaller one. The smaller bolt/bin/cabinet is less than half size.
I think I have found a new home for my ALLEN SYNCHORGRAPH distributor machine.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

I met a man with a 1935 Rolls Royce. The RR is serviced in a specialty shop for old cars. I contacted the shop and they were very pleased to get the ALLAN SYNCHROGRPH. To their surprise, I gifted the Synchrograph to their shop in exchange for a shop tour when Covid19 is under control.
