Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

I found a Craigslist seller with a bunch of PETERSEN Vise Grips for sale. The prices were nothing special, the Petersen name means something to me. I agreed to buy every Vise Grip he had. I managed to buy 7 pairs, because his boss wife thought it wa unfair to any other possible buyers if I were to buy all the VG they had. After driving a hour through the worst traffic to get to the seller and then have my intention cut back, I was pizzed.
This brings the total of Petersen VG to around 200 pair.
If it does not say PETERSEN, I do not buy it.
I have to "fire-up my ultrasonic parts cleaner. I have a bunch of Craigslist stuff to freshen up. I have been called a TOOL POLISHER. I suppose there is some truth in that, but, I use my clean tools.

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

My son was trying to make some KD for himself. He was distracted and forgot to turn the flame off. The pot got so hot the bonded bottom came away from the pot. My wife wanted to replace the pot with an original. Paderno, the Canadian maker, have not returned our calls.
I went on Craigslist and found a person selling this saucepan. I contacted him and we agreed on his price plus Canada Poste shipping.
this was my first e-transfer and it was easy. The seller put the new saucepan in the original packaging yesterday, late afternoon. Canada Poste delivered before 08:00h today.
This has been an all-around good service experience. The final price, to me, including shipping was about 50% of the manufacture's suggested retail.

PENCIL SHARPENER 69138
I went to a stationery store close out. I bought all of the wood pencils and two German pencil sharpeners. These sharpeners were $50 each. Expensive. The boxes of Made in Canada VENUS pencils were 100 for a dollar. I bought $12.50 worth.
I could not leave with pencils and nothing to write on, so, I picked up boxes of interesting. Some of the paper is specialty stuff for artists. OH, Yah. there were all of those paint brushes and other art supplies. My daughter is a talented artist.
I prefer writing with a pencil to a ball-point-pen. I have a few collector fountain pens, including my first one. I got it in a book store in 1955.
My wife suggested that I may have more than enough pencil sharpeners. She counted over 20. I have not told her where the other sharpeners are.

Great find on the pencil sharpeners !

I as well like using pencils and I go through many Dixon's #2 every year
for all my printed words and sketches. So much easier to correct mistakes.

When I write cursive and sign documents which is quite often its Kaweco pens for me ,
I do have a few.. Not cheap but very well made and comfortable to write with.

Flamed blue barrel with silver nib.
I scored this one for fathers day last year from my boy..

I admit I am a addict for collecting fountain pens and using them.
Have a few on my desk every day.

A couple of my dads and some of my own.
The rest are in a secure place :)

Be safe - sm

CRAIGSLIST AGAIN
I called the seller and we made a deal. The traffic in Vancouver is terrible. I have two more like this one. I sold a fourth.
This is a machinist tool box.
The seller has two more, like this one, I agreed to buy both of them, later. :t3901;

Re: SECOND HAND STORE FIND

It is not like I need another pair of Vise-Grips, but the price and the temptation of another real PETERSEN was too much foe me to resist. I have four pair of this style and over 200 other VG now.

I joined T-W-A-T. The Working-tool Addiction Therapy. I am not so sure this works, although, joining has kept my mind off tools. :t1812:
