https://youtu.be/PORkrY_e_HQ Women drivers? That may be unacceptable in 2018.
You Tube set this video as a recommended link. There are more 1940 Ford videos, including some visitor rides over a closed course at the 1939 - 1940 Worlds Fair at New York.
In 1940, only the Deluxe had left and right tail-lights from the factory. The windshield wipers mounted on "towers". The linkage from the wiper motor connected to a lower shaft and the wiper action was transferred to an upper shaft with a small chain. https://youtu.be/PORkrY_e_HQ I replaced these on my '40 even though the originals looked not too bad. the splined drive to the wiper arm is usually what fails.

Is this car driving yet?

It is not. I am at the mercy of my son's schedule. When he gets a day off we hope to get the Ford running. I would like to do a pre start lube including some light oil spray on the cylinder walls.
I need the voltage to stay above 10.5 for the ECU to work. The dry drag in the engine drags the voltage to under 10.
The weather is crap, so the car may not get outside.

Understand completely except for the weather. It’s still in the high 70’s here. Can’t wait to get my truck started, just need brake lines and fuel lines ran. Been spraying my cylinders once a month with oil fogger.

I just ordered two cans of fogging oil from the local Canadian Tire store. I can pickup my order at the check-out after I get called. This should be in an hour or so. Very handy.

Tomorrow is the day we "fog" the cylinders in the Flathead V8. I bought two cans at CANADIAN TIRE. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/moto ... 0910p.html
We adapted to the remote filter lines and used a GRACO oil dispenser to pre-lube. It worked rather well. We ran out of time to finish.

The GRACO dispenser puts out 40 psi.

It rained all day and the shop was cold. My truck is in a local shop for new brake lines. I am stuck at home.
I had the heat on but I gave up on the car and went to the house.

NNS been I while since I visited. Was hoping you had been out cruising around in this magic little "Resto" great to see your still tinkering in the shed. I am still plodding away with my 2 retos. 1918H & 1944K not much to report after a failed business venture and about 50k down the drain things have been tight to do much in the shed. Still out and about in my 1927 and enjoying every trip especially now the grandkids are old enough to go for a ride. Hope the weathers not to cold and you don't go slipping down the back lane. We are heading for a nice warm 42c in a few days.

I am not feeling well today, so I am not in the shop. We are having our monsoon season here. There is a threat of snow and ice road conditions so the city keeps the roads salted. I have everything ready to go, I hope. When the weather improves that will be soon enough to give the Ford a go. The temperature is 4c now.
It is good to hear from you. Dare I ask about your Cummins?
We just spent $13,500 on new storm drainage upgrade. The crew finished yesterday. The city will make their connection on Thursday
Take care and we will have to talk again. Can you send your email via PM?

Snow in the lane.
The lane is steep and the snow hides a layer of ice.
When my son gets a day off and is not sleeping we will install the final pieces of the ignition system and give it a try. He works night shift and two of his three days off for double time, over-time.
The neighbour to the upper side has a new Mercedes Sprinter. He was parked facing downhill. I offered him the use of a wheel-block. He said no! Seconds after he left the van, it started to slide away. When he came back in a few minutes his unmanned Sprinter was about 70 meters down the lane and stopped where the lane starts to level out.
