I wonder if the "different" sound of the Flattie might have something to do with the ZUNDFOLGE.
The car is going back together really well and so far there has only been one "hang-up". We had to lower the AC .75" to clear another component. This minor change is not visible.
My wife has given me a target date of August 27. We might just make it.
The Walker radiator gets installed tomorrow. Every time that I pick this monster up, I wonder if an aluminium replacement might have been a bit lighter and a good idea. I must make four custom studs for the left head. None of the new studs are close to stock lengths. All 48, 7/16" studs were cut to length and had the threads cut on the lather. The block end is 7/16" by 14 tpi and the outside end is 7/16" by 20 tpi. I was able to buy ground stainless rod with similar specifications to the original studs. With so many studs, I had to make a stud map.
Today started with taking a SAGINAW tilt steering column apart and sand blasting the outer housing and the seat adapters then driving them and two boxes of interior trim to the body shop, 90 minutes east of here. After leaving the body shop, I continued east to MERRITT to visit and buy some Binder Bits. There was no lady with a camera this time, but I was served a Buffalo Burger and a Diet 7up. I like MERRITT, BC. It is a nice relaxed place without the rush of traffic we suffer here.
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have
