Re: Virtual Front Porch

I wish everyone a better new year. 2022 has been a tough one for me. I have lost many long time friends and a few relatives. My last uncle just went into palliative care.

Re: Virtual Front Porch

Today, I got a phone call from a long time friend. He was offered a larger than most domestic smokers. The unit is custom shop built from stainless steel. The size is 50" wide, 24" deep by 48" tall, opening, with a front drop down door.
It is free to anyone who will haul it away. So, he calls me. I call my neighbour who is a fisherman and hunter. The neighbour instantly said he wanted the smoker. I think it is nice when a plan comes together like this. :m03104:

You will likely be the recipient of some tasty smoked goodies for setting that up!

TRUCK COLLISIONS.
Something that is bugging me is, the increasing number of heavy trucks with over height loads hitting overpasses. There are a few gravel trucks with the box still fully up, hitting structure. The noon news reports that this has happened 22 times in 2023. This morning's driver/moron, jumped out of his truck and ran from the scene An hour later, the driver was not found.
We have a government safety program for trucks. The news reported that over 80% of the trucks stopped for inspection will fail. A failure gets the truck towed to an approved repair facility and a re-inspection after the repair.
This evening news reports, that the owner of the truck is not cooperating. So, the government confiscated all of the company trucks and other assents then cancelled their permit of operate. The driver has not been identified at 6pm, today.

I grabbed a fresh pair of pants right out of the dryer, this morning. As always, the dryer had turned the pockets out. Since I am not going outside, I left the pockets sticking out. My wife asked, "Why not tuck the pockets in where they belong?" I replied, "I am working on an elephant act."

Good game. The mid-time show left me a little cold. I took the opportunity to go to the toilet. I would have preferred Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction."

My son-in-law said the songs performed at the halftime show were at least 15 years old. I didn't remember hearing any of them before. I guess I'm older than the target audience. Several years ago, I enjoyed seeing The Who at halftime. Many younger people said "who?"
