Re: County Doesn't Like Car Guys

Spent most of the morning at the Sherriff's dept. First the idiot patrolman's sergeant who has been off all of last week was said to be off again today. His Lt was said to be there until I wanted to see him and then he somehow disappeared to the far side of the county. After a couple hours and seeing various folks peeking out at me, I overheard one say, "hes still setting there". Not long after that the Lt finally came out to speak with me. The idiot did file a claim that he hit Simon. Somehow my complaint I filed the day after had mysteriously disappeared. Guess what, I let them make a new copy of it and gave them the name of the deputy that took it in the first place. Lt tried to turn it around on me as I hadn't taken Simon to the vet that day. However I had his Vet Tech our neighbor come over within a few minutes and help me access his condition and if he needed to be seen right away. I was told to hold it down and not use bad language a couple times and finally warned that the next time he would throw me out. Kept my cool and told him about another instance with the Elbert County Sherriff Dept, that acted like the keystone cops. Lt promised to research all reports and talk to the deputy and get back to me this afternoon. We will see!!!

Re: County Doesn't Like Car Guys

Hope you hear good things, but do not bet on it. Do you know any Lawyers who are not afraid of the Keystone kops? If so, you might have a short consultation with him and if you are not satisfied with the response you get, let them know that from that point forward, your lawyer was going to do the talking and it was going to get REAL expensive. Sorry, but I no longer hold a great many of the "police" in high regard, Quite a few I have run into in the last 4+ years(especially the younger ones)seem to think THEY are above the law and ARE the law. I will shut up now.

My attempt to hide a vehicle from the old car police.
Camouflage is necessary.
Just kidding...this is an old photo.

Re: County Doesn't Like Car Guys

As Barney Fife only keeps the sherriffs office open bankers hours I had filed an affidavit at the other end of the building with a deputy in the jail. I am still waiting to hear back as somehow it had disappeared. I allowed the lt to copy my copy of what I had submitted. Word is the deputy at fault was on vacation for a week and now is out for some surgery. Now you don't think, nah! just my imagination! MM

The guy who busted me was ex-CHP. ONE guy working 16 hours a week covering 5,000 square miles.
Kinda spread thin. No time to put out "fires" he started.

Re: County Doesn't Like Car Guys

Glad that I currently do not have those issues at my place in Middleton. My property is zoned C-2 which is a commercial designation, and one of the uses is a "storage" lot. And Hopefully sometime in the near future and repair shop! I even have amicable dealings with the local Vehicle Investigator! Yeah! My title for my L112 is on its way! Now, just to keep the Code Guy where I live in line.

Re: County Doesn't Like Car Guys

This conversation reminds me of how fortunate we are here on Sask. farms. I guess I could fill up any of the yards I own with old vehicles and nobody would say anything as long as I keep paying the taxes on the land.
