Our shared border is closed to all domestic travel. Persons from the south have been allowed to pass through when they declare they are going to Alaska. Cars with tags as far away as Texas have been spotted in Banff. One set of travelers bragged to a waitress that they had cheated at the border by using the Alaska destination declaration. The waitress called the police. The possibilities for this violation are not pleasant for the visitors. The fine could be $5000, or two weeks in supervised quarantine or escorted out of Canada with never return added.
Here in Western Canada there has been a diligent community response to the covid19 fight and it is working. It annoys me when visitors from a country that is not serious about the pandemic show up, like this.
I am looking forward to the day when I can go shopping and eat in any restaurant I like, when I want . I do not appreciate anyone putting this into jeopardy.

Yup, agree with what you folks in Canada are doing. I am about 4+ hours south of you and would also like to do what I want to do but we have too many people being stupid with no respect for others.

The people have to work together to beat this thing. It is a community thing. At this time, it is not about personal freedoms and rights.
Our shared border remains closed. Canada cannot afford to allow persons to visit when the country they live in is not following the struck measures of Canada.
Our news reports over 60,500 new covid19 cases today, in USA. Canada had 320 new covid19 cases mid day, today. At 1700h the new cases count was over 71,000 for USA and 321 For Canada.
Canada continues to test at a higher percentage of the population. Canada has less than 1% testing positive. USA are testing positive at 20-30%.
Covid19 is coming for you. Try to not make yourself an easy target for infection.
My family is following the strict rules of Doctor Bonney Henry, our provincial health officer. The rules disrupt life as we knew it, but as Doctor Henry says, "It is for a short time, not forever."
My few friends have suggested that my PPE (mask) has improved my looks.

Iv'e always said that one's greatest strength can be an asset or liability , in this case Americas freedom ; How undisaplined we must appear to the world . Along with the red hat they should have passed out big spoons , to beat on the hi-chairs when things aren't working out .

Hasn't made my news feed yet, but doesn't surprise me, he had all the qualification to be fired, smart, on the ball, and will not bend (too much) to political winds.

The Hell with American lives Trump's only concern at this point is re-election and Fauci's inconvenient truths stand in the way. I'm glad I have no grandchildren to be trundled off to school to prove Trumps "were getting back to normal"' push. History will take a dim view of all of this.
